Contractors and Inspectors
According to Maryland Regulations all persons performing lead paint abatement and inspection activities must be trained by a Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) accredited/licensed training provider and apply for and receive accreditation/licensing from MDE to perform these lead paint activities. The only categories not required to apply for and receive accreditation from the State are Abatement Workers, Structural Steel Workers, and Project Designers.

- Refresher training courses may only be taken before your prior training or accreditation has expired. If your previous training and accreditation has expired you are required to take the initial training course. Please verify your eligibility with your training provider or MDE prior to registering for your class.
- ACCREDITATION APPLICATIONS for: supervisors, inspectors, risk assessors, contractors, instructors, training providers and courses.

The application processing period is approximately 30 to 90 days for all accreditations except for courses, where it is 60 to 90 days. Please be aware that incomplete applications may take longer.

- Required Experience for Becoming a Lead Paint Risk Assessor in Maryland

Form 330s may be obtained by currently accredited Inspection Contractors by calling 410-537-3825.

Inspection Contractors are responsible for keeping records of all Form 330s assigned to them.

Form H will be requested for review by MDE prior to issuing additional Form 330s to an Inspection Contractor.

Only request Form 330s if you are planning on using some with in the next six months.
