WASHINGTON, DC (November 23, 2009) – Administrator Lisa P. Jackson will join federal, state and local officials for the ground-breaking of Edmonston, MD’s Recovery Act-funded “green street” project on Tuesday, November 24.

The Town of Edmonston was awarded $1.1 million in Recovery Act funding from the EPA to control stormwater runoff from their main street. The town is also taking other steps to make the street environmentally responsible, including the installation of energy efficient streetlights and accommodations for walkers and bikers.

The Administrator will also tour a section of the street that will be completely transformed by this project.
