BALTIMORE, MD -- The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) will present a multi-media environmental issues seminar on October 29 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Hagerstown Junior College Advanced Technology Center, 11400 Robinwood Drive, Hagerstown.
The seminar is designed to provide sanitarians and other environmental health professionals with current information about air, water and waste topics of interest as identified by local environmental health departments. In addition to overviews of MDE responsibilities, topics will include the Smart Growth Initiative, development of total maximum daily loads, the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, Brownfields and the Voluntary Cleanup Program, the Vehicle Emissions Inspection Program, and county responsibilities under Maryland's Public Information Act.
