Officials to Break Ground for City of Brunswick Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade
 
Brunswick Maryland - Secretary Philbrick will make brief remarks about the Bay Restoration Fund and the range of activities geared toward restoring the Chesapeake Bay then participate in groundbreaking actions to begin construction for the new City of Brunswick Wastewater Treatment Plant. The plant will include enhanced nutrient reduction technology that dramatically reducing the level of nitrogen and phosphorus being discharged into the Chesapeake from that region. Excess nutrients, like nitrogen and phosphorus, lead to degraded water quality, which negatively impact the ecology of the Bay and its tributaries. Anyone interested in the preservation and restoration of the Bay is invited to attend.

Take 70 East to Rt. 340 West to Rt. 17 towards Brunswick. Follow Rt. 17 right at first light. Proceed 3/4 way through traffic circle, take exit marked “To A Street.” Bear right onto Maple Avenue. Go straight through light and cross over railroad tracks. Take left onto Canal Tow Path. Parking is on right just past the wastewater treatment plant at the Brunswick Campground. Follow event parking signs.
