Soft-wood Open Burning Exemption
Purpose
To exempt the burning of softwood residuals, now classified as an industrial waste, at eastern shore sawmills as requested by DNR. Would allow softwood sawmills to open burn the unrecyclable  residuals derived from the removal of sections of wood containing unretrievable metal from the sawlogs, that renders them unusable for lumber production. Change would be a minor amendment to the exemptions from the permit requirement.
