37. Rosewood

Introduction

The Rosewood Property site is a 10 acre (2.5 acres forested, 2.5 acres scrub-shrub, 5 acres emergent) wetland restoration from agricultural land.  This site is located in the Patapsco River Area - Jones Falls (02-13-09-04) watershed of Baltimore County. 

      

Construction

The Maryland Department of the Environment, Irvine Natural Science Center, and the Eastern Shore Resource Conservation & Development Council (RC&D) cooperated to restore this wetland by allowing natural succession beginning in 2002.              


Status

MDE is unsure of the wetland success but plans to score the site in 2010.  This site is located within the Irvine Nature Center and is open to the public.
