During the 2017 legislative session, the Maryland General Assembly passed House Bill 270: Lead in Drinking Water – Public and Nonpublic Schools, mandating all occupied public and nonpublic schools to periodically test for the presence of lead in all drinking water outlets. The proposed action on the regulations was published in the Maryland Register on February 2, 2018, and the regulations will become effective on April 9, 2018. The Water Supply Program is hosting five trainings to assist schools in implementing the lead testing requirements:
The Board of Well Drillers is now part of the Water Supply Program.
The Board of Well Driller licensing examinations are now available in Spanish. Please indicate you would like the Spanish version when you submit your payment and application to take the exam. Notice must be provided to the Board at least two weeks prior to the examination date. Please call the Board staff (410)-537-4466 if you would like more information.
The Board of Waterworks and Waste Systems Operators is now part of the Water Supply Program. Effective October 1, 2014, the Board of Waterworks and Waste Systems Operators have revised their regulations.
The Board is now offering online examinations. Please indicate that you would like to take the online version when you submit your payment and application to take the exam. Online exams can be held at certain H&R Block locations, at your leisure, or can be taken at MDE on June 21, August 16, October 18, and December 13, 2016. No more than 20 applicants will be accepted for exams at MDE locations.
