May 3, 2012, 1-3 p.m.: Part 2 – Planning for an Energy Management System
Learn about the Plan-Do-Check-Act approach and delve into key Plan processes such as conducting an energy review, determining energy baselines, setting targets and objectives, and preparing action plans. Part 1 was an introduction to ISO 50001 energy management software. Check out more event details and register.
May 10, 2012, 1-3 p.m.: Part 3 – The Do and Check Processes of an Energy Management System Focus on the Do and Check processes including documentation, operational control, monitoring and measurement, evaluation of legal requirements, and setting up an internal audit program. May 15, 2012, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tracking and Measuring Sustainability Programs. This program, sponsored by Maryland Hospitals for a Healthy Environment, will be held at the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Maryland. However, priority will be given to hospital and health care employees when limitations occur.

Check out more event details and register.May 15, 2012, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Tracking and Measuring Sustainability Programs at Carroll Hospital Center Learn how Carroll Hospital center used a sustainability tracking tool to quantify the results of an environmental initiative and to track its water, energy and natural gas usage. To register, send name, title, facility name, e-mail and phone number to England@son.umaryland.edu Priority is given to health care employees when space limitations occur.

Maryland Green Registry Wins National Award
The Maryland Green Registry was awarded the Most Valuable Pollution Prevention (MVP2) by the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable. The award recognizes outstanding and innovative pollution prevention projects and programs that demonstrate measurable results and optimization of available project resources. See article.
Chesapeake Bay Seed Capital Fund
